There exist bead caps or bell caps and cones in many sizes and finishes and with a little imagination, they may be one hell of a component. They hide small bead imperfections where necessary and can be used to downsize the hole of a bead. Bead caps add texture to your design and differentiate identical beads.
Tips to differentiate:
use a different model of bead cap for the central bead or alternate different caps
layer by combining several sizes of caps to give more texture to a bead
turn the cap or cone away from the bead instead of facing the bead.
Also bead caps alter the shape of a bead in many ways. The moreover, have a closer look and you will see that two bead caps facing one another make a hollow lightweight metal bead.
Tips to alter bead shapes:
form a nut or fruit shape by adding an over-sized bead cap to one end of a small bead
make a dangling bellflower with a headpin, a small bead and a large cap or a cone
create an oval by adding small bead caps to each side of an over-sized bead
and why not, add a small cap on one side of a bead and a large one on the other side.
Make your design all yours with some help of dune beads' bead caps.
